The Obamas touched down in London last night, Michelle Obama in cobalt blue Preen. (A nod to Kate?) This morning, the President and his wife met Kate and Will. Per usual, the Duchess looked fantastic. She chose the neutral Shola Bandage Dress from Reiss ($340). Don’t bother calling the Reiss boutique on Newbury; they sold out this morning. Sizes 4 and 6 were still available on the U.S. website. (Warning: The site keeps crashing.)

As for Mrs. Obama, she’s wearing a girlish yet matronly sleeveless, full-skirted Barbara Tfank Resort 2011 dress with box pleats in a powder blue floral silk, paired with a tiny bubble gum pink jacket. The pricey designer pieces are on the web. Barneys New York sells Barbara Tfank online, though not this exact dress. There is however a similar strapless design in a pale green silk jacquard print for $2,250.
